As a user of MS PowerPoint, you may sometimes need to add a webcam video, e.g., from popular sites like YouTube, Yahoo, Google or iFilm to your presentation. Oops! A frequent problem occurs – the web video cannot be hyperlinked directly to a slide due to Internet block; the downloaded YouTube video is stuck with your presentation. Then, you have to download the web video, often in format of FLV, convert it to a PowerPoint-compatible video file format (e.g., ASF, AVI, MPEG or WMV), and insert the converted video to your presentation.
Here I would love to introduce some free yet easy-to-use software tools and web services, which will help you quickly download and convert videos from YouTube and likewise for using in PowerPoint.
