Ever since Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 8.9 model in March at the Spring CTIA trade show, we seldom hear any news about it. During that time, a larger version Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was released in June.
After Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 was pre-ordered at Best Buy last Thursday, we get new information that this WiFi-only Android tablet will be hitting the market on September 22 with a price of $469 for 16GB version. Like its bigger brother, Galaxy Tab 8.9 will have a 32GB version too, but it needs additional $100!
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has most of the features of Galaxy Tab 10.1. It will run on Android 3.1 Honeycomb system, with 1GHz ARM cortex-A9 dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. The most appealing is that it will use an 8.9-inch HD screen with native 1280×800 pixels resolution which will show videos, pictures and games bigger, brighter and richer ever before. Other features include – Wi-FI, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and more.
