Nokia MeeGo Smartphone N9: Sepcifications, Price and Launch Date

Nokia has officially announced its first MeeGo device this year – Nokia N9 on June 21, 2011. From this unique all-screen design we could see Nokia’s latest design innovations and Smartphone technology in this MeeGo device. Instead of a “Home” button like iPhone 4, Nokia N9 enables users to go back to home screen by a simple swipe at the edge of the display.

Nokia N9 Specifications:

Nokia’s MeeGo machine comes with a 3.9-inch AMOLED touch screen display which has a pixel resolution of 480×854. The screen is made up of scratch resistant curved glass. Nokia offers a better voice quality and a better reception with the superior performance of its antenna. This Smartphone comes with two memory choices, 16GB & 64GB and provides a RAM of 1 GB in both. Powered by TI OMAP 3630 1GHz processor and embedded PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, Nokia N9 is expected to have a great performance whether on movie, video or apps. An 8MP camera with Carls Ziess autofocus sensor is spotted at the back which supports 720p video recording. Nokia N9′s 1450 mAh battery delivers a backup time of 50 hours for music and about 4.5 hours for video. Other specifications like Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi, Orientation Sensor, Light Sensor, AV Connector, Micro SIM slot are also included in Nokia N9.

Nokia N9 Launch date and Price:

One of Nokia’s product managers in Australia revealed that it is possible that Nokia N9 will be provided to main distributors as early as August this year. While previously 3 carriers in Switzerland said Nokia N9 would be released on September 23.

According to the VP of Nokia’s Global Sales Executives, the price of Nokia N9 will be at $660 for 16GB version and $749 for 64GB version.
