Full Specifications of HTC Edge Leaked- First Quad-core Smartphone

Rumors have been focused on the first quad-core Smartphone make by HTC – HTC Edge. Leaked pictures and more detailed specification of HTC Edge from Pocketnow finally bring it to light.

4.7-inch 720p Display

When taking first sight on HTC Edge, you may recall the HTC Sensation in your head. This devices looks much better with a little bigger and with the 10mm thin curve body and concise back design.

Follow the HTC Titan, HTC Edge will also provide impulsive visual experience by equipping a 4.7-inch touch screen with a high resolution as 1280 x 720 pixels.

Quad-core 1.5GHz processor

The most attractive feature of HTC Edge is the expected quad-core processor. It is said that the new processor AP30 Tegra 3, based on ARM Cortex-A9, has upgraded from dual-core to quad-core with 1.5GHz, integrated with ULP GeForce GPU which has 12 graphics processing units. It is a beast for 1080p video decoding and 3D video playing. It will also be equipped with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Besides, the memory is expandable with another 32GB using microSD card.

By the way, the previous rumored Samsung Galaxy S3 seems to have an even stronger quad-core processor which is 2.0GHz.

Camera and Beats Audio

The camera will be upgraded up to 8MP on HTC Edge with f2.2 lense, LED flash, auto focus and 1080p HD video recording. HTC Edge will also bring with Bluetooth 4.0 and Beats Audio technology with profound bass and fresh sound effects.

Android 4.0 and Battery

Google has released the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, an operating system for all portable devices, that is to say, Smartphones, tablets and other Android devices will use the same Android OS. Most probably Android 4.0 will be equipped on HTC Edge. Android Smartphone is widely criticized for its battery which could usually last for only one day. Though no new about the battery capacity of HTC Edge is leaked, it should no less than 2250mAh, which is the battery of Galaxy S3.

The HTC Edge is said to be release in the first quarter of 2012, while Galaxy S3 will be released mid of 2012. If so, very likely HTC Edge will become the first quad-core Smartphone in the world.
